Note from the Author:
If you've never lost someone you love, you may not understand the fear and the sheer frustration of never having that person fill at least one of your senses ever again--not one more sight of their face, or sound of their voice, or smell of their clothing. Death is not like the starving of an addiction, but the slow atrophy of the part of the heart that loved the person lost--that part of the heart remains, only heavier and constantly longing for the revival it will never receive. The hope of heaven, or reunion, may distract from this constant gnawing, but what if no such hope existed? What if the one person who inspired loved that filled every part of your heart was banished to hell for an unavoidable sin? How far would you go to get them out, even if it meant you'd become the one person most deserving of hell in the process?
Estelle lost her husband, Connor, who has been damned for protecting her and dying in her place. It's up to Estelle to take his hell upon herself, to inflict it on those deserving, and to free him completely. For her love for him, for her own heart and hope for heaven, Estelle faces Darkness.
